The Be-All-End-All-To-Inception Note (aka STFU)

Maybe reality's what you want it to be. Maybe it's irrelevant whether or not the top was spinning. Maybe there was another level of dreaming left...but maybe he didn't care. Did you notice that he spinned it and walked away?

If there's anything to be learned from that movie, it's that "catharsis" is possible in dreams AND in reality - you can gain closure just as easily in your dreams/memory as you can in reality. Yeah, ignorance is bliss...but knowledge can be just as equally fulfilling. Picking between the two means deciding between you'd "rather be happy or right" (thanks to Adam Veroni, who said this 2 years ago).

Has it not occurred to you people that maybe there's a reason Nolan left the ending ambiguous and gave just as many clues to either interpretation?

Yeah, it was a great movie...now hop off its nuts. All of a sudden, everyone's a beard-massaging philosopher.

In closing...shut the fuck up. If this is seriously the first time you guys have ever tripped the fuck out...then maybe you should pick up a book up more often. Or maybe try thinking about shit - I guarantee it'll mess you up as much as this movie did (if you're not retarded).

I also don't care if this contains spoilers - It had the words "BE-ALL-END-ALL" beside "Inception" & if you didn't see that coming, I wouldn't recommend for you to even watch the movie. You'd probably be just as equally entertained if you lit shit on fire and threw stuff in it.

Conclusiveness can only ever be as solid as the actual answer is.

Peace,

  1. Btw, the top falls. You can hear it fall after the credits, but people are too busy literally yelling that most of the time you can't hear it. Ken Watanabe confirms this in an interview.

But, I believe it's that split second of doubt. You could be so sure of reality or how sure that Cobbs wasn't in a dream but because of that one second of doubt, people lose their entire perception and grasp of everything. 'What if?' which makes Cobbs quote twice as lovely "What's the most resilient parasite? An Idea. A single idea from the human mind can build cities. An idea can transform the world and rewrite all the rules."

Chris Nolan played the ultimate inception on the entire crowd watching it.

  2. WHAT? the top fell? I'm a little pissed now. I thought that was a perfect ending. I'd be more than happy speculating whether he was in a dream or not. There were clues pointing to both. cmon... the kids were even wearing the same clothes.

    Just my 2 cents:

The thing I took out of this movie, is that the concept of "real" is defined by you. In a dream, things are so real that you can't even tell they're not real. Therefore, in the mind is the only place reality exists. If you have catharsis in a dream, it feels just as real as in real life. This is a fact. Feelings and sensation in a dream are just as "real" to the mind as feelings in sensation in the waking state.

Now, this doesn't mean that nothing matters at all and we're in the fucking matrix, but at the same time, try to SEE beyond the daily grind and the daily bombardment of imposed ideas and concepts thrown at us. You know that iphone 4 you really want? You could just be trippin on a dream.
